"Which Way to Go: Take This Simple Survey"

Published May 2020

This blog highlights Bryan Ventures live courses in the midst of COVID-19.

too-many-options   I don't know about you, but COVID-19 has created a lot of extra work for Bryan Ventures. Good work--work I should have probably done earlier, but like so many other projects or things I'm not comfortable with, I put it off for some other day. When Corona arrived, that day came fast. The introduction of our INSURANCE CE WEBINARS was something I originally claimed I would NEVER do, and they were a SMASHING SUCCESS. Agents were engaged in the material, they learned a lot, and we had fun. Yes, FUN in an INSURANCE CE WEBINAR We laughed and we discussed the material-- yes, discuss. Agents chiming-in and sharing ideas on the concepts we were presenting. Overall, just like our LIVE CLASSROOM INSURANCE CE, we enjoyed our time together.

Right now, things are beginning to open up. It seems safer out there, at least at this moment, and the question becomes, what should we do at Bryan Ventures? We've put together a SURVEY so you can respond with your thoughts. This very SIMPLE SURVEY is four questions long, it should take less than a two minutes to complete.

Like the image above, the changes we've been through are a bit disorientating. It's perplexing to decide what to do going forward. There is so much information out there and some of it, conflicting. There are also plenty of lies and misinformation in a time where we need clear direction on the best moves forward.

My first instinct, at least as it relates to live classes at Bryan Ventures, was to continue with webinars only through the remainder of the year. It is the safest alternative, and it works. We can meet, talk, conduct class as we normally would, but there is no risk (not to one person) of contracting COVID-19 in this environment. I still believe this is the BEST way to go. The problem is that not all of you think so too.

Some of you are wanting to come to a live classroom. Some of you already opted for online classes. These two things, in combination, means Bryan Ventures is like so many other small businesses, we are suffering from depressed revenue. I'm grateful we have a fairly recessionary proof business, but the truth of this situation is while we have not been hit hard by COVID, we've still been hit.

 this-way-that-way
duluth-clearwater The other important consideration is it is costly to host a live venue and ensure everyone is 6 feet apart. We make the most money when we have the greatest number of people in the room, and today, they are asking us to limit groups to a smaller size. All of this makes offering LIVE CLASSROOM INSURANCE CE challenging.

My first thought was to offer just one or two select resort locations, DULUTH and WALKER. We'd offer these like our DESTINATION CE classes. There would be reduced rates for hotels, and maybe we could even arrange to meet outside. This fell apart when our first few customers did the SURVEY and said they wanted live classroom insurance CE near them. They didn't want to travel to a class. I found this a bit disheartening. Granted, maybe they put that out there because they are asking for the best case scenario, and are willing to consider other alternatives. They would attend a webinar or drive to a resort, if those are the only other options. However, they had the opportunity to state that in the comments, and did not.

For those of you waiting to get what you want--a live classroom course conveniently located--I'd like you to consider what we are all asked to do right now. The reason why social distancing and mask wearing is an important consideration is because we need to consider other people right now (and honestly, maybe always). Bryan Ventures, like other small businesses, may not weather this storm unless you make a decision to support us with your dollars, even if it isn't the most convenient or preferred choice for you.

Ultimately, our ONLINE INSURANCE CE COURSES will always be there. I could have a full-time job elsewhere, and still manage and run them. But if you like LIVE INSURANCE CE, vote by taking a class. Come visit us at one of the upcoming LIVE CLASSROOM LOCATIONS or sign up for a LIVE WEBINAR to check it out. I honestly need you. If you already have your insurance CE, please pass our classes on to other agents.

Also, if you have not done so yet, please take the two minutes to take this very SIMPLE SURVEY. Right now, I am thinking that maybe each month, we'll instruct two days via LIVE WEBINAR and then also host a LIVE CLASSROOM LOCATION. I need your insight and your consideration to decide so please answer the four simple questions on this SURVEY. Also, if you have more detailed insight for me, certainly just reply to this email. I would love to hear from you.

Take care, be well, and love each other. :D
